Case Studies

Charles Clinkard

Charles Clinkard is a premium footwear retailer that was established in 1924 in North East England.

They now operate 42 stores that spans across the UK.

We were asked to tender as part of their energy procurement needs.

As a result, we managed to win the business and provide the estates energy across all of the stores. We managed the project efficiently at the right price, saving the company money whilst taking away a large task from their operation.

Royal Grammar School

This is one of the largest and most prestigious private schools in the North East.

The system comprised 473kWs over multiple roofs of varying roof coverings and buildings of differing heights, with five points of connection.

Works carried out during term time, allowing for the schedule of a very busy and challenging environment.

The design gives a predicted yearly output of 409,062 kWh, the equivalent to 95 tonnes of CO2 emissions, or the same as having nearly 700 trees planted per year.

Nissan Factory

The team delivered a 20MW solar farm extension to complement the plants existing wind turbines, which consisted of 37,440 PV panels resulting in the generation of 20% of the plants required power needs, the scheme was £12M.

Nissan has set itself the goal to achieve carbon neutrality across the company’s operations and the life cycle of its products by 2050. As part of this effort, by the early 2030s every new Nissan vehicle offering in key markets will be electrified, as well as introducing innovations in electrification and manufacturing technology.

Cambridge Ice Arena

We are in the final stages of completing works on a 62.25kWp system that is a specialist weld roof mounted system.

The array comprises of 150No solar panels and 2No 25kW inverters, the on site works were completed in less than three weeks start to finish.

The system is projected to produce 52,000 kWh annually.

Salisbury Hospital

Chiller upgrade to the Hospitals Operating Theatres and Burns unit, we completed the detailed design and utilized Keyter Chillers from within our group of companies along with high efficiency Grundfos pumps.

The project encompassed a complex specialist crane lift, structural steelwork,  pipework, insulation power, controls, water treatment and water balancing. Our team managed to remove both chillers, locate the new chillers and to have one up and running within 7 hours of starting to minimize disruption to the busy hospital, the second chiller was commissioned the following day.

LSST Lincoln

This project was funded in part by the Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund (PSDF) and Salix consisted of the decarbonisation of the Academies Swimming Pool Building. A turnkey solution was provided from detailed design, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. The traditional gas boilers were removed and our team installed Air Source Heat Pumps along with new pipework, inverter driver, buffer vessel, hot water calorifier, air handling unit upgrade, power and BMS controls, upgraded internal heat emitters, water treatment and balancing. The works were partly completed during the school term whilst the academy and all of its buildings remained in operation.

Prince of Wales Hospice

We have delivered a 73.44kWp solar installation, which saves 14.24 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of planting 654 trees.

The installation had an annual generation of 61.1 MWh, saving the customer a projected £700,000 in the lifetime of the system, with an annual return on investment being 41.9%.

Hadrians Wall Campsite

We outfitted the site with 31 high-efficiency 405W solar panels, achieving a total  output of 12.5kWp.

This project is anticipated to yield nearly £3,000 in annual savings for the customer.

Additionally, we integrated a 10kW battery storage unit to further boost the site’s energy efficiency.
